Eco Community

Working Together Towards a Brighter Future

Eco Community is a collective of local groups, schools, churches and anyone interested (or not!) in creating a local environment that celebrates wildlife, wild open spaces, linking these spaces together and working towards a more climate kind approach to our world. Environmental awareness and wellbeing is at the forefront of what we are all working towards. Our projects are designed to be a catalyst that both bring our community together as well as educating and impacting on the wildlife and world around us, both locally and within a wider context. Learn more about the positive impact we have and join us in bringing about positive change.

About

Eco Community is bringing together local communities, schools, churches and groups to work towards improving our open spaces for wildlife, to challenge how we are each living and making a difference for our world. We are simply a group of volunteers keep to make a difference and to help others do so: if we each can make a small difference on our own, how great a difference we could make together,

Challenge Plastic - Eco Sculptures project  Summer 2021

One Step at a Time

Meet 'Upcycled Ernie' of 'Ted the Turtle':

How to take part:

  1. Over Summer, research an endangered animal and find out why its dying out.

  2. Create a model or collage of an endangered animal, using rubbish we cannot recycle! Use anything you are throwing away which cannot go in our blue-top bins or be recycled at the tip.

  3. Label your creation with the name of the species; why it is endangered and your name.

  4. Photograph your model  / picture and send the pics to ecocommunityww21@gmail.com – your entries will be displayed online

We’ll get in touch with details of how to display your art at the local churches between 13th and 19th September.

Have fun!

“The fact remains that man has unprecedented control over the world and everything in it. And so, whether he likes it or not, what happens next is very largely up to him.”

“It’s surely our responsibility to do everything within our power to create a planet that provides a home not just for us, but for all life on Earth.”

David Attenborough

Me and You, You and Me....

So what is this all about?

Eco Community is a group of volunteers seeking to bring together different groups and parts of our local community, driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. What can YOU do at home to make a difference? If we all join together, surely we can achieve so much more?
We are seeking to support and rewild our open spaces, nurture our wildlife and encourage us all to rethink how we live, so as to impact positively both on our small corner of the world and to the wider world, wildlife and our wellbeing.

"We are at a unique stage in our history. Never before have we had such an awareness of what we are doing to the planet, and never before have we had the power to do something about that. Surely we all have a responsibility to care for our Blue Planet. The future of humanity and indeed, all life on earth, now depends on us.”

“Real success can only come if there is a change in our societies and in our economics and in our politics.”

David Attenborough
